Privacy Policy

DRAFT, pending founder and legal review. Not yet in effect. Last updated November 2, 2026.

This policy explains what information Tube AZ collects, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It covers the Tube AZ website (tubeaz.com), the web app (app.tubeaz.com), our API (api.tubeaz.com) and the Tube AZ Chrome extension (together, "Tube AZ"). Tube AZ is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [ADDRESS], Canada ("we", "us").

Short version

  • We use your data only to run Tube AZ for you. We do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising.
  • Our access to YouTube is read-only. Tube AZ never posts, uploads, changes or deletes anything on YouTube. The extension only fills a Studio field when you click, and you press Save yourself.
  • YouTube data we store is refreshed or deleted within 30 days, and deleted when you disconnect.
  • Videos you upload for Shorts are deleted after processing; the clips are deleted after about 7 days.
  • You can disconnect YouTube, ask for a copy of your data, or delete your account at any time.

Information we collect

  • Google account (when you sign in with Google): your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID (scopes openid, email, profile).
  • YouTube data (only if you choose "Connect YouTube"): with read-only permission (youtube.readonly) we read your own channel's ID, title, thumbnail and uploads list, and your recent videos' titles, publish times, durations and public counts (views, likes, comments). With yt-analytics.readonly we read YouTube Analytics reports for your own channel, such as views by day and by video. We do not read revenue or other monetary data.
  • What you give us in Tube AZ: notes you type, the current title and description of the video you ask us to help with (read from the YouTube Studio page when you ask for suggestions), the suggestions we generate, which suggestions you use, and your language choice.
  • Videos you upload for Shorts: the video file, its name, size and length, and the clips we make from it.
  • Billing: your plan, subscription status and billing history. Card details are entered on Stripe's page and go straight to Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Chrome extension: stores on your own device a Tube AZ sign-in token, your account email, a short-lived settings cache and your panel preferences (open tab, collapsed or open). It sends your browser's language so we can answer in the right language. It runs only on YouTube Studio and on our own connect page, and it does not track the websites you visit.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, request times and error logs, used to keep Tube AZ secure and working.
  • Cookies: we use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to protect forms (session and security cookies). We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

How we use it

  • To provide Tube AZ: writing title ideas and descriptions, remembering your recent titles so ideas don't repeat the same pattern, cutting Shorts clips, showing your best time to post and weekly progress.
  • To run your account and billing, send account and billing emails, and answer support requests.
  • To keep Tube AZ secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.

We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to decide creditworthiness or for lending. We do not use Google user data (including YouTube data) to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine-learning models.

YouTube Analytics data

YouTube Analytics data is used only to show you insights about your own channel, such as when your audience watches and which videos did best this week. It is shown only to you and is never shared with other users or published. Like all YouTube data we store, it is refreshed or deleted within 30 days.

AI processing

  • Anthropic (Claude) writes title ideas and descriptions. When you ask for suggestions we send the relevant text: your video's current title and description, your notes, your language, and a short list of your recent titles (some of which come from YouTube) so new ideas don't repeat them. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic processes this on our behalf and does not use it to train its models.
  • OpenAI (planned, not active yet) will be used to transcribe speech for Shorts captions. When this starts, the audio of videos you upload for Shorts will be sent to OpenAI for transcription. Under its API terms, OpenAI does not use this data to train its models. We will update this policy before it starts.

Suggestions are AI-generated and can be wrong. Review them before you save anything in YouTube Studio.

Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers that help us run Tube AZ, under contracts that limit their use to providing their service to us:

  • DigitalOcean: hosts our servers and database (Toronto, Canada).
  • Cloudflare (R2): stores videos you upload for Shorts and the clips we make.
  • Anthropic: AI writing for titles and descriptions (see above).
  • OpenAI: transcription, once captions launch (see above).
  • Stripe: payments and subscriptions. Stripe handles your payment details under its own privacy policy.
  • Google: sign-in and the YouTube APIs.
  • [EMAIL PROVIDER, if used for account and billing emails].

We may also share data if the law requires it, to protect people's safety or to investigate abuse, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, and in that last case only after asking for your consent first. Some providers process data outside Canada, including in the United States.

YouTube API Services

Tube AZ uses YouTube API Services. By connecting a YouTube channel you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

You can revoke Tube AZ's access to your Google account and YouTube data at any time:

Google API Services and Chrome Web Store: Limited Use

Tube AZ's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

The use of information received from the Tube AZ Chrome extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Our staff do not read your Google or YouTube data, except with your permission (for example, when you ask for help with a specific problem), when needed for security or to investigate abuse, or when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

  • YouTube data (channel details, video details, analytics and anything computed from them): refreshed or deleted within 30 days. Deleted right away when you disconnect the channel or delete your account.
  • Videos uploaded for Shorts: deleted as soon as processing finishes (and within 2 days at the latest, even if processing fails).
  • Shorts clips and thumbnails: deleted 7 days after they are made (our daily cleanup may take up to one more day).
  • Account data, notes and suggestions: kept while your account is open; deleted when you delete your account.
  • Billing records: invoices and payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting laws require (in Canada, generally six years), even after you delete your account.
  • Logs: kept for up to [30] days, unless needed longer to investigate a security issue.
  • Backups: deleted data may stay in encrypted backups for up to [30] days before it is overwritten.

Your choices and rights

  • Disconnect YouTube: Dashboard → Disconnect. We revoke our access with Google and delete that channel's data.
  • Delete your account: Dashboard → Delete my account. This cancels your subscription, revokes YouTube access and deletes your data (except billing records we must keep by law).
  • Get a copy of your data (export): email [email protected] from your account email. We will send you a copy in a common format within 30 days.
  • Delete specific data: email us and we will delete it within 7 days.
  • Correct your data: update it in your Google account, or email us.
  • Chrome extension: click Disconnect in the extension's popup, or remove the extension, to delete what it stores on your device.

Depending on where you live (for example Canada under PIPEDA, the EU or UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have further rights, such as to object to or restrict some processing, or to complain to your data protection authority. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will not treat you differently for using them.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Google access tokens are stored encrypted. Access to our servers is limited to the people who run Tube AZ. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will tell you as the law requires.

Children

Tube AZ is not directed to children. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age to have a YouTube account where you live) to use Tube AZ, and at least 18, or have a parent or guardian's permission, to buy a plan. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us data, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make important changes, we will update the date above and tell you by email or in the app before the change takes effect.
